Researchers have determined that this statue dates back to the 8th century A.C., and despite the fact that there are thousands of Buddha sculptures around the country, this is regarded as one of a kind. The statue is 66 centimetres high, and it is portrayed in the Samabhanga posture. Abhaya Mudra is performed with the right hand, while the left hand is bent and used to carry the robe so that it falls over the forearm. The Buddha's body is gently touched by the translucent robe, which has regular linear ridges that reveal its pleats. Crystal eyeballs have been inserted into the statue's eyes. It is assumed that this statue was formerly used as a worship object and was kept in a shrine.
