You will begin your tour at 08:30 with a hotel pick-up from Ahungalla. If breakfast is not available at your hotel, please ensure you carry a packed meal for the journey.
The first activity of the day is a relaxing river safari along the Madu River. This peaceful boat ride takes you through dense mangrove forests and calm waterways, where you may spot birds, reptiles, and small wildlife while learning about the unique river ecosystem.
Following the river safari, you will proceed to the Kosgoda Turtle Hatchery. Here, you will learn about sea turtle conservation efforts in Sri Lanka, observe different species, and see hatchlings and injured turtles under care.
At approximately 13:00, you will stop for lunch at a restaurant of your choice at your own expense before continuing south to the historic city of Galle.
Your Galle city tour includes a visit to the iconic Galle Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Walk along the ramparts, explore colonial-era buildings, visit the Galle Lighthouse, and experience the charm of cobblestoned streets reflecting Dutch and British heritage.
After completing the city tour by around 16:30, you will begin the return journey to Ahungalla, arriving back at your hotel between 17:30 and 18:30.
